If you are someone who enjoys working outdoors and seeks to be part of a dedicated crew that prioritizes safety and hard work, we are looking to hear from you Carmacks Enterprises Ltd. is currently seeking **Traffic Technicians**to join our Maintenance Division for the 2024 season based out of Calgary, AB. This role operates on a **7 days on, 7 days off schedule working a night shift rotation**; working **12-hour shifts.**This is a fixed term position until September 30, 2025.

**What is the role?**

The Traffic Technician is part of a dedicated crew responsible for providing maintenance services to the Deerfoot Trail and Northeast and Northwest sections of the Stoney Trail. Operations include primarily traffic accommodation, vegetation control, drainage and weed control, surface repairs, overhead lighting and traffic signals, line painting, and maintenance of signs and guardrails. Responsibilities include:

- Works with the Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor and the CMSL Team to complete work required to meet expectations, standards and, timelines outlined in contracts and agreements at or below costs
- Provides services required in contract to meet specifications
- Patrols the roads and observes the Right of Way (ROW) to identify work that needs to be done
- Locates and identifies hazards
- Deals with the public in a courteous professional manner
- Complies with and contributes to the improvement of the CMSL Quality and Environmental Management Systems
- Participates in training to operate new equipment
- Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner; identifies maintenance required
- Ensures equipment is working and operating in a proper fashion, and completes any repair requests required with the appropriate paperwork, and
- Other duties as required

**What do we value?**
- Possess a Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract
- Physically able to complete labour work with high amounts of repetitive movement
- Experience related to highway maintenance is preferable
- Ability to work continuously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently, and with mínimal supervision
