**JOB INFO**

As the Traffic Signal Technician, you are expected to be engaged in our safety program, executing work in a safe manner, in adherence with CANA policies and all applicable code regulations and the Act.
- This position entails physically demanding motions and tasks.
- The work requires commuting to different sites in and around the Calgary area.
- With projects across Western Canada, travel and shift work may be required.
- CANA Energy operates year-round and outdoors in all types of terrain and environments.

**YOU WILL**
- Set up, program and test traffic controllers and detection systems
- Troubleshooting programming and electrical issues
- Pull cable, install traffic signal components and terminate traffic signals wiring including street lighting
- Read and understand traffic designs
- Installing and placing underground and overhead cables and conduit

**YOU WILL NEED**
- Valid Journeyman Electrician Certificate and/or Interprovincial Red Seal
- IMSA certified Field Tech Level 2 or 3
- Knowledge of the electrical, construction and maintenance of traffic control devices
- Knowledge of Econolite and Intelight traffic systems
- Familiar with software for signal timing and detection system setup
- Experience with bench testing procedures and timings processes for traffic controllers
- Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation to commute to various job sites
- CANA Traffic Signal Technicians are required to be on the approved drivers list and operate a company vehicle
- A successful Pre-Employment Assessment that includes screening for Drug & Alcohol and the ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly

**NICE TO HAVE**
- Experience working in close proximity to active Heavy Machinery
- Equipment operating experience such as RBD and bucket truck
- Two (or more) years of shallow utilities experience or four years of Construction Industry experience
- Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license
- Previous flagger experience
