**What responsibilities will you have in this role?**

Reporting to the Dean, Centre for Arts, Design and Information Technology, the Manager, Field Education and Partnership is responsible for developing, measuring, and implementing the Centre for Arts, Design & Information Technology’s Work-Integrated-Learning long-term plan, which includes optional, college-sanctioned field education opportunities for all undergraduate and postgraduate students. The manager works with cross-college teams, including a Field Education committee, on the implementation of standard Field Education systems, tools, processes and administrative procedures, while developing partnerships with members of industry.
- Develops short and long-term plans to fully integrate field placement/cooperative education/industry-relevant work-integrated learning opportunities into all eligible Centre for Arts, Design & Information Technology programming (according to the College’s Field Education goals).
- Works with faculty, administration, and existing employer partners to develop new field placement/co-operative education/industry-relevant work-integrated-learning opportunities.
- Analyzes employer and college needs and develops innovative solution to fill recognized gaps.
- Recognizes and determines strategies to take advantage of upcoming labour market trends.
- Works with Chairs, Program Coordinators and Faculty to develop systems, quality assurance measures, policies and procedures to ensure that high academic standards and employer expectations are met and maintained.
- Develops the budget for the Centre’s Field Education Offices; monitor budget activity and report budget data to Dean, as required.
- Oversees technology systems and tools used by staff to ensure accuracy of data and efficacy of communication with students and employers.
- Works with other college departments to support career preparation and Field Education to support career preparation and Field Education goals including Academic Excellence, Alumni, Career Services, Student Affairs and the Registrar’s Office.
- Manages Field Education Officer and other staff reporting to this position with respect to their role, George Brown policies and procedures and any other requirements of the role.
- Coach, mentor and performance manage staff to ensure development of skills and career paths and achievement of career goals and staff satisfaction.
- Facilitate the development of accountability and commitment to the engagement of staff in the department.
- Establish and maintain regular reporting on field education initiatives and employer partner development.
- Conducts ongoing research on industry trends to help establish the roles and/or positions students can perform as part of their Work-Integrated-Learning experiences.
- Develop, lead and execute events that support the development of new partnerships and field education opportunities.
- Represents the Centre for Arts, Design & Information Technology on College committees and sub-committees relating to Field Education and Partnerships.
- Participates in Internal Committees and Advisory Boards.
- Other related duties as assigned.

**What qualifications do you need for this role?**
- Four-year degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business Administration, Education or equivalent.
- Formal education and experience in pedagogy, post-secondary training, adult education, and curriculum development is required.
- Five (5) years progressive experience in field education/work-integrated-learning partnership development, curriculum development, marketing, communications, and team leadership preferably in a post-secondary environment.
- Expertise in job coaching, career development, and understanding of experiential learning (field or co-operative education) and its value to student learning and industry partners.
- Knowledge of the employment sectors of the Centre for Arts, Design and Information Technology is required.
- Familiarity with and understanding of a complex, multi-stakeholder environment and sensitivity to issues of diversity of the population that George Brown College serves.
- Excellent organization, planning, research, analytical and intuitive skills.
- Service-focused leadership skills
