YMCA of Southwestern Ontario was founded in 1856 and has over 200 locations from Goderich to Point Pelee, and Windsor to Woodstock. We are one of the largest not-for-profit providers of licensed child care in Canada and have over 100 school age programs across our regions. We also offer settlement services to newcomers, employment programs, mental health support, and youth programs. YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates two overnight camps, one in Point Pelee National Park, and one on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka. We also have 15 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario.

Employees and volunteers of YMCA of Southwestern Ontario are ambassadors for the Y both on and off the job. **Position**: Overnight camp staff

**Location**: YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth, Beausoleil Island
**As part of your total compensation**:
- Eligible staff will receive up to 1-year complimentary YMCA membership to our Health & Fitness facilities, you may also be eligible to receive discounts on YMCA Child Care and Camp Programs
- Be part of a caring and supportive network of people to help each other succeed
- Complimentary access to wellness and counselling services
**In this role, you will**:
- Form positive individual relationships with participants
- Ensure that participants’ life needs are met while at camp and on trip
- Provide adequate and engaged supervision of participants while at camp and on trip
- Proactively manage emotional and physical risk for participants and staff members on trip
- Develop and deliver a leadership program curriculum that fosters the development of positive group dynamics
- Provide opportunities for each individual participant to identify their own strengths and goals and to develop both their own character and their peer leadership skills
- Pack all food and equipment for trip, paying attention to dietary restrictions for participants
- Be committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
- Embrace and exemplify the Y’s core values
**Other Job Details**:
- Staff will be required to provide their own transportation to/from the boat launch at Honey Harbour Boat Club Marina. Staff carpooling option's may be available.
**Education and Skills Qualifications**:
- National Lifeguard is preferred for all staff, and required for some positions
- Standard First Aid, CPR C
- Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Position Screening
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- At least 17 years old by December 2025
