**Direct Tax**
- Lead the preparation and primary review of Global Relay's portfolio of interim and year-end corporate tax provisions for multiple entities in various jurisdictions, including: Canada, the United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Sweden.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and submission of domestic and international information returns (e.g., T5, NR4, and NR6) and various corporate franchise taxes throughout the United States.
- Responsible for providing corporate tax return information to external consultants and performing a comprehensive review of deliverables thereof.
- Work closely with the finance team and external consultants to drive processes related to the Scientific Research & Experimental Development ('SR&ED') and Research & Development Expenditure Credit ('RDEC') programs, ensuring completeness and accuracy of capturing information required for such claims.
- Manage both the documentation and implementation of transfer pricing strategies and policies for Canadian and foreign subsidiary entities, including performing modeling and engaging with external consultants when necessary.
- Own the financial reporting impact of corporate taxes including the recognition of corporate tax expense and disclosure within Global Relay's financial statements, book-to-tax analyses, and financial statement recognition and presentation of the SR&ED and RDEC programs.
- Manage taxation related audit queries and information requests.
- Stay current with relevant Canadian and international tax law, trends, and developments.
- Identify and assist with global tax planning strategies in conjunction with the Director of Finance, Chief Financial Officer, and external consultants.
- Perform ad hoc tax analysis on tax implications of transactions as needed.

**Indirect Tax**
- Manage compliance of sales tax, use tax, GST/HST, PST, and VAT returns in Canada, the United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Sweden.
- Monitor sales tax nexus thresholds and perform detailed research of when sales tax nexus has been breached.
- Own the sales taxability conclusions for Global Relay's nuanced product offering by performing thorough research and exercising strong problem-solving skills when assessing state and local sales tax legislation against Global Relay's facts and circumstances.
- Champion the next phase of our implementation of a sales tax engine, including designing and optimizing processes to drive efficiency and accuracy of sales tax collection, reporting and remittance.
- Manage all tax related inquiries (internal and external) and maintain all tax documentation related to the taxability of services such as tax residency, and exemption certificates and other artefacts.

**Other**
- Participate in ad hoc tax, accounting and finance projects, analyses and initiatives when required.

**About You**:

- A minimum of 4 years in Canadian tax experience in an accounting firm and/or industry. Experience in indirect and/or international corporate tax is not mandatory for this role but would be an asset.
- Chartered Professional Accountant ('CPA') with at least 2 years of post-designation experience.
- Completion of the In-depth Tax Course would be an asset.
- Familiarity with United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Sweden corporate tax rules is an asset.
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise ('ASPE').
- Proven track record in team management, including coaching and providing feedback to work prepared by junior members of staff.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and time-manage.
- Impeccable accuracy with numbers and high attention to detail.
- Expert level Excel proficiency, with advanced knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and ability to write clear, concise and formal business communications.
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion and to be entrusted with confidential information.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team with mínimal supervision.
