Inventory & Yard Maintenance Associate

Sid Grabell Contracting Limited, based in the Niagara Region, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Inventory Associate / Yard Maintenance individual who will manage incoming and outgoing material, supplies, and tools for a fast-paced electrical contracting business. You will organize and perform periodic physical inventory counts and initiate re-stocking. You will also be responsible for the organization of the shop, yard, and all storage locations.

**Job Functions**

1. Inventory stores control:

- Monitor and maintain current inventory levels, advise re-order when necessary;
- Ensure materials are marked, ready and available for projects when required;
- Receive requests from field staff with job material requirements, gather and prepare inventory as requested;
- Ensure that stock is well organized;
- Perform physical count of inventory, and reconcile actual stock count to computer-generated reports;
- Check incoming shipments for damage and accuracy, report issues as soon as possible, re-stock shelves;
- Process and document returns as required following established procedures;
- Monitoring and maintaining current inventory levels, including reconciling stock counts to computer generated reports;
- Initiates action to replenish stock;
2. Tool stores control:

- Document, manage and control tool cage and inventory;
- Keep tool crib organized and clean;
- Maintain and clean tools when coming back from job sites.
- Report damaged or broken tools using established repair process

3. Yard Maintenance:

- Keep yard organized, clean and free from clutter;
- Ensure outdoor stored material is marked, ready and available for projects;
- Ensure equipment is returned to its allocated spot in the yard;
- Ensure garbage and scrap bins are monitored for fullness, arrange for disposal when required;
- Clear snow from walkways and driveways in a timely manner, manage de-icing when required;
4. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

**Minimum Job Requirements**
- Relevant College diploma; or at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Forklift Certification considered an asset.
- Electrical knowledge considered an asset.
- Heavy equipment knowledge ex. Backhoe, Skid steer, telehandler, considered an asset

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required**
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control;
- Experience in material handling an asset.
- Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data;
- Ability to analyze and solve problems;
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork;
- Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods;
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word,
- Operate Basic Hand Tools and Powered Hand Tools: Drills, Cutting Torches, Drills, Grinders, Welders,

**Working Conditions and Physical Effort**
- Considerable physical activity. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs;
- Work is normally performed in interior/warehouse and outside yard environment in all weather.
