**The School**
**Position Rationale and Goal**:
The System Administrator position takes care of the computer systems and networks for the school. The position provides assistance to the IT Manager and mentorship to junior IT staff. As part of a small team in a school environment, the role takes on a broad range of duties and supports the entire school community.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, or post-secondary equivalent technical education
- Minimum 2-4 years' experience in systems administration or equivalent
- Relevant industry certifications
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong client services skills
- Experience administering Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Cloud, and Google Suite technologies
- Advanced server and computer troubleshooting skills
- Experience in networking including switches, access points, VPNs, VLANs and security
- Ability to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical team members with the ability to work at times with mínimal supervision
- Effective people and time management skills and ability to set priorities and deadlines
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under stress
- Knowledge of cross-platform environments, including MacOS, Windows, iOS, and ChromeOS
**Key Responsibilities**
- Support faculty and staff users in their day-to-day work, providing solutions and process improvements
- Provide information and training to staff to support their understanding and uses of school technologies, including emerging technologies
- Implement new technologies and service as well as supporting existing technology and services
- Ensure network security and stability across local and cloud-based environments.
- Maintain documentation in accordance with prescribed standards
- Provide audiovisual support for school events as requested
- Assist with major IT projects and upgrades as required
- Manage and prioritize the IT ticketing system ensuring timely support is provided
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current information technology techniques and tools
- Perform other related duties as assigned
