**Main Function**: The position is responsible to the Manager of Linear Infrastructure Technical Support Services for the planning and coordination of all Linear Infrastructure Services maintenance activities in support of quality customer service outcomes and the business plan for this section.

**Duties**:
1. Responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities and staff in the Linear Infrastructure Services division, ensuring effective and efficient maintenance in compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal legislation.
2. Responsible to review incoming work requests, prioritize maintenance action requirements, and schedule work backlog according to best industry practices and City of Greater Sudbury (CGS) condition-based maintenance plan.
3. Assist, advise, and liaise with section management to develop, review, and update procedures for compliance related operating and maintenance activities.
4. Assure CMMS software data files are complete and current by gathering equipment and associated maintenance information and developing standard codes for equipment, stores, and task assignments and utilize computer and data entry device systems.
5. Direct contractors undertaking planned maintenance activities for Linear Infrastructure Services.
6. Act as a point of contact for technology troubleshooting. Liaise with Information Technology on issues that require escalation.
7. Assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of operational analytical reports for Linear Infrastructure Services.
8. Assist with technology support, including the setup and deployment of tablets for field crews.
9. Assist in the training of CGS staff in the operations of the CMMS and other technologies.
10. Responsible for providing quotes for CGS and non-CGS infrastructure repairs (e.g., private hydrants, entrance culverts). Interpret drawings and instructions issued by supervision.
11. Liaise with external agencies and respond to citizen service requests.
12. Responsible for providing data for benchmarking initiatives (e.g., CIBI, MBNCan).
13. Review completed and outstanding maintenance activities. Provide supervisors with list of work orders for crew deployment.
14. Assist management staff with operational budgeting and tracking with the purpose of keeping maintenance activities within budget parameters. Involvement in monthly budget meetings with Finance Business Manager.
15. Where and when applicable, assist the ORO/supervisor/foreperson with regards to compliance breaches involving personnel who are found to be not performing duties in compliance with policies/procedures and MECP legislated requirements.
16. Control and monitor inventory of spare parts and equipment by procuring, ordering, issuing, adjusting, and receiving stores.
17. Assist management’s representative at the complaint stage of the grievance procedure.
18. Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory updates and liaise regularly with special purpose bodies and regulatory authorities; DFO, MECP, MOL, MOH.
19. Prepare operating and maintenance records and regulatory documents for inspection in compliance with legislated requirements.
20. Conduct onsite inspections, study and audit of infrastructure facility inventory and maintenance work items, and where necessary, coordinate with consultants and qualified personnel to analyze and prepare reports on the root cause of equipment failure and other findings.
21. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’s Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
22. Perform other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Training**:

- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in a related field.
- Level I license or higher through the Ontario Water/Wastewater Certification Office (OWWCO) in water distribution and wastewater collection is considered an asset.
- Industry specific courses/seminars relating to process equipment maintenance is considered an asset.
- Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification is considered an asset.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of three (3) years of related operations, construction, and maintenance experience with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience in the coordination of work crews and work assignments. Must have experience dealing with the general public.

**Knowledge Of**:

- Applicable Federal, Provincial legislation and related regulations including Municipal By-Laws and “best practices” within in area of responsibility.
