We're looking for a thought leader, project leader and self-starter who can work as a strategic partner with our HR and EJCA business leaders to better enable associates and leaders at all levels to effectively achieve our firm's Colleague objectives. The DEI and Talent Strategist will integrate enterprise DEI and talent strategies into the EJCA talent plan. Acting as a liaison, the incumbent will represent the Canadian business segment and interface with DEI, Talent and HR Insights COEs. This role, in partnership with COEs, will develop unique solutions for talent mobility and development in Canada. The DEI and Talent Strategist will be asked to participate in industry groups and partner with external agencies to bring Canadian insights and thought leadership to EDJ Canada.

**Key Responsibilities**

**_Talent Management_**
- Contribute to the understanding and adoption of Talent programs and policies and ensure their execution in EJCA
- Consult and collaborate with HR colleagues and division leaders to diagnose current and future business needs related to strategy, structure, talent, and culture
- Co-create with COEs and implement strategies to further talent identification, evaluation, and development and movement.
- Discover and communicate HR insights to help our leaders make better talent decisions and reinforce culture as it relates to selecting, evaluating, developing, and aligning talent for future success
- Partner with and provide strategic consulting and technical expertise to HR colleagues and other teams across the business segment to ensure alignment of talent processes and utilization of best practices
- Facilitate and document HO horizontal talent reviews and outcomes, including annual nominations for leadership development programs

**_ DEI_**
- Develop and execute strategies in support of firm priorities, DEI initiatives and our 4-Point Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, tailored for Canada Business Segment.
- Inform, educate, and consult HR and Division leaders across EJCA on diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, as well as recommend an optimal or preferred solution to influence strategic direction.
- Liaise and support AWBL in field to advance DEI objectives.
- Deliver original insights on opportunities for enhancing firm performance in support of our promise that Edward Jones is a place of belonging for all.
- Educate senior and executive firm leaders on diversity, equity and inclusion concepts and best practices.

**Qualifications Required in the Job**:

- Direct experience in CA and a bachelor's degree is required. 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Functional/Technical Qualifications:_
- Ability to think strategically but also drive tactical execution.
- Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks/projects and adjust to changing priorities with mínimal leader input.
- Intermediate understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion best practices.
- Works effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to influence associates and leadership up to the senior management level using verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Ability to summarize complex concepts and clearly communicate with senior management.
- Possesses intermediate to advanced project management skills.
- Industry and best practice research skills are a must.
- Committed to continual learning and growth of knowledge and skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.

**Problem Solving**:
The strategist must have the ability to identify the question(s), analyze and recommend solutions to senior firm leaders in a clear and concise manner. The specialist must have the ability to implement projects of a low to medium complexity which involve cross-functional teams, and therefore must be able to collaborate well with associates and leadership throughout the firm, including external vendors.

**Span of Influence**:
The strategist works with leaders up to senior management, providing guidance to directly influence business decisions. While there are no direct supervisory responsibilities, coordinating with others to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines will be required, as well as occasionally mentoring and training other associates on the team.
