Diversity and Inclusion Worker (Peel)
(November 24, 2025 to January 11, 2026, with possibility of extension)
CCS is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or immigration status.
CCS is seeking a Diversity & Inclusion Worker to develop and deliver cross-cultural learning activities, fostering interaction in a safe space, and supports newcomers to be actively engaged in their community. This is a temporary position covering for a leave of absence and works onsite at our Brampton and Mississauga locations.

What you will be doing?
- Develop, and facilitate a series of interactive cross-cultural learning activities for newcomers in various CCS programs
- Develop and execute outreach plans to promote the program and recruit participants
- Connect and build relations with local community networks and initiatives to support newcomers' engagement
- Support, enhance and facilitate newcomers' civic engagement initiatives in their local communities
- Work collaboratively with CCS team to coordinate the delivery of activities
- Research and create comprehensive cross-cultural engagement resources and activities
- Provide recommendations for improvement, development and/or expansion of the program to ensure proactive response to clients' changing needs
- Ensure all client and program files are complete and updated
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely statistical, narrative, and program progress reports
- Participate in regular team meetings
What are we looking for?
- Social Service Work diploma, Social Work or Humanities degree from recognized institution or equivalent training in community work sectors
- Minimum of two years' experience developing group activities including ice-breakers, group facilitation and coaching newcomers in cross-cultural activities
- Experience working with clients from diverse cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds
- Thorough understanding and demonstrated commitment to principles of equity, anti-racism, and anti- oppression
- In-depth understanding of barriers and challenges facing newcomers
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant community resources and initiatives to empower newcomers and build their social networks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Creative, solution focused and result-oriented
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and internet applications
- Excellent oral and written skills in English language, a second language is an asset
- Possession of a valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a car is an asset
Location: Brampton and Mississauga, ON
Salary: $27.05-$30.11 per hour based on experience
Hours of Work: 35 per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime will be required
