Covid Mental Health Coordinator

**About Us**
The Indigenous Primary Health Care Council (IPHCC) is an indigenous-governed, culture-based and Indigenous-informed organization. Its key mandate is to support the advancement and evolution of Indigenous primary health care services provision and planning throughout Ontario. Membership includes Aboriginal Health Access Centres (AHAC), Aboriginal governed Community Health Centres (ACHS), other Indigenous governed providers and partnering with Indigenous health researchers and scholars.
**Overview**
The COVID Mental Coordinator will work with the COVID Mental Health Project Manager and the Mental Health and Wellness Team to support the development of a program that supports staff wellness and prevents burnout among those working the frontlines; and supports the capacity building of IPHCC members through development of tools and resources that support those working the frontlines, informed by a social determinants lens.
**Responsibilities**
- Develops workplan and identifies key deadlines, outputs, etc.
- Project specific meeting coordination
- Ensures implementation plans and activities are aligned and coordinated
- Liaises various organizations and stakeholders
- Supports culturally appropriate outreach, focus groups, community engagement, and knowledge sharing
- Works with an advisory panel to address mental health and wellness needs of those working frontlines
- Supports development of community of practice and support networks
- Supports development and delivery of mental wellness and cultural sessions
- Researches and collects information to support training opportunities
**Requirements**:
- Post-secondary education in a health or social sciences field or equivalent combination of education, lived and related work experience.
- Knowledge of Indigenous health care sector.
- Knowledge of Indigenous Traditional Healing and Wellness
- Knowledge of Indigenous peoples history in Ontario
- Ability to lead and direct work that demonstrates IPHCC’s commitments to cultural safety, equity, diversity and inclusion approaches
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, social media, content management systems and newsletter platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and seek assistance as required
- Effective decision-making skills and follows through with general strategic direction
- Other functions as required

**Compensation**
Salary is commensurate on qualifications, experience and is set within the IPHCC’s established salary grid and policy guidelines.
**Some travel will be required within the province.**
