- Provide proper training on the safe use of hand tools and power equipment.
- Learn the ropes from foundation to framing, and everything in between.
- Assist other trades on-site as needed.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Learn to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Learn to fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware.
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 0.5 years of experience as a Junior Carpenter, or 1-2 years of skilled labour in residential or non-residential construction.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 90lbs).
- Must have access to you own vehicle and a full drivers license
- Interest in working towards developing carpentry skills
- Strong customer service and front-facing skills.
- Basic knowledge in all aspects of Carpentry.
- A good gut for heights, managing a crew and working on busy, high pressure job sites.
- Aptitude in math.

**Work Conditions**
- **Flexible availability may be required, with overtime paid accordingly**:

- Travel to off-site locations may be required.
- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
- Hazards associated with the trade.
- Work both indoors in confined spaces and outdoors.
- Clean, warm work clothes (jeans, long-sleeves, hoodies, etc.).
