We're seeking a dedicated and experienced Mortgage Underwriter to join our thriving team. As a key player in our organization, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our clients' dreams of homeownership into reality. **Responsibilities**:

- Financial Expertise: Analyze borrower credit profiles, income, assets, and collateral adeptly to determine loan eligibility. Guide clients through financial complexities for optimal loan choices.
- Risk Assessment: Utilize proficiency in financial metrics to assess risk, determine suitable loan amounts, and inform prudent lending decisions that safeguard clients and our business.
- Regulatory Compliance: Uphold ethical standards through deep comprehension of industry regulations and company policies. Stay current in the evolving landscape, ensuring responsible brokerage practices.
- Mentorship: Guide and nurture junior mortgage brokers as a senior team member and facilitate their development in growing your mortgage business.
- Tech Proficiency: Efficiently handle data entry tasks using Filogix to enhance accuracy and operational efficiency, contributing to the expansion of your mortgage business.
- Autonomous Interaction: Independently engage with brokers and customers in specific instances, ensuring exceptional customer experiences through clear communication and adept problem-solving, furthering your mortgage business's reputation and growth.

**Qualifications**:

- 3+ years of experience as a Mortgage Agent/ Underwriter
- A successful track record in sales
- Bilingual/multilingual considered a great asset
- Experience with Filogix
- Underwriting experience
- Retail banking experience as a mortgage specialist is an asset
- Able to multi-task

**Compensation**:

- The underwriter will be paid per file.

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
