We are on growth journey - now looking for our next star - a passionate **Production Planning & Materials Manager.** This position reports to Director of Operations and**will work in Vancouver, BC.

Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.
As** Production Planning & Materials Manager,**you will manage the top-level production build plan, for all products, derived from product management sales forecasts. In addition, manage tactical purchasing, shipping, receiving and materials management.
**General Responsibilities**
- Developing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining supply chain management strategies that increase the efficiency and speed of supply operations.
- Handling correspondence and negotiations with suppliers.
- Optimizing warehouse functions
- Monitoring costs and staying within allocated budgets, and preparing reports
- Prepare, implement and review MRP Master Schedules based on input from product management sales forecasts.
- Ensure MRP system accuracy as it relates to production planning and material replenishment.
- Proactively recommend enhancements to company ERP system and assist in lead-time reduction planning.
- Develop strategies and related plans to achieve improved inventory levels and increase year-over-year turns.
- Optimize material layout and movement within the facility.
- Manage levels of finished goods, raw materials and components inventory.
- Resolve issues related to defective material, returned goods and long lead time components.
- Develop and implement processes for use of excess materials.
- Maintain contact with suppliers and part processing subcontractors to ensure schedule maintenance. Work closely with departments to find alternate sources of supply.
- Prepare and deliver reports as needed; identify impact and resolution of delayed shipments.
- Support and mentor direct reports and provide guidance as required.

**Skills & Requirements**
- Degree or diploma in Engineering or Operations or a suitable combination of experience and education.
- A minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A minimum 5 years of experience as a manager with non-technical and technical reports.
- Experience with MRP or ERP systems.
