**Title**: Business Systems Analyst

**Reports to**: Director Application Development & Enterprise Architecture
**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Meet with decision makers, systems owners and end users to define business, financial and operations requirements and systems goals, identify and resolve systems issues.
- Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for enhancing business processes, operations and information process flow.
- Conduct interviews to gather user requirements through workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios and other methods.
- Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions.
- Conduct research on software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Participate in the QA of purchased solutions to ensure that the features and functions are enabled and optimized.
- Create system design proposals.
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems and other post-implementation support.
- Provide guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members.

**Education and Experience**:

- College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, accounting or management information systems
- 7+ years related work experience.
- Accreditation in accounting or/and other business disciplines is desirable
- Project Management certification and/or formal education is very desirable
- Formal Education/courses in either of the following disciplines:

- Business-to-IT communication
- Managing projects and resources
- Analyzing business needs
- Project scheduling and budget control
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving**
