Nokiiwin Tribal Council needs one (1) experienced, knowledgeable, and motivated **Health & Safety Advisor.** Working in a team centered environment, the Advisor will work alongside the Health & Safety Wellness Advisor.

The Health and Safety Advisor plays a key role within Nokiiwin Tribal Council’s Health, Safety and Wellness Department, supporting the expanded scope of the G’minoomaadozimin 'We Are Living Well' initiative. Reporting to the Manager of Health, Safety and Wellness, the Advisor will deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed, and community-driven health and safety programming across Nokiiwin’s six member First Nations, Indigenous-owned businesses, and community-based initiatives.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Promote a culture of safety and wellness through trauma-informed practices and Indigenous values.
- Strengthen Workplace Health and Safety Capacity with training, mentoring, and technical support.
- Advance WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program (HSEp). Participation and measurable safety improvements to Indigenous led businesses and communities.
- Develop and Share Culturally Relevant Safety Resources integrating the Nagachidisin CARE Model.
- Support Community-Led Decision-Making and Reconciliation through culturally safe programming.
- Enhance Coordination and Collaboration with Steering Committees, Health and Safety Associations, and SMEs.
- Integrate Mental Health Supports and Resources aligned with Anishnaabe Culture and practices.
- Work with Steering Committee representatives of Nokiiwin member First Nations
- Implement the funding proposal deliverables under the guidance of the Manager.
- Provide technical support in health and safety compliance to communities and businesses.
- Develop workplans, budgets, policies, and procedures aligned with Indigenous values.
- Coordinate services and training within communities in a timely and culturally appropriate manner.
- Facilitate local safety meetings, consultations, and workshops.
- Track participation, outcomes, and safety metrics across communities and projects.
- Support mental health initiatives and trauma-informed training.
- Maintain documentation and contribute to reporting and funding proposals.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Indigenous Health, or related field.
- Health and safety certifications or training (e.g., JHSC, WHMIS, First Aid).
- Experience working in First Nations communities or Indigenous organizations.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulatory systems and WSIB programs.
- Experience with community consultation and culturally responsive facilitation.
- Fluency in Anishinaabe, knowledge and appreciation of Anishnaabe culture and heritage are assets
- Successful completion of a Level 1: Police Criminal Record Check (PCRC)
- Valid Class G driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to member communities.
