**_ _**to join our team at our Winnipeg Terminal.

The Financial Analyst is a dynamic and hands-on role within our Finance team. Reporting to the Divisional Controller, the Financial Analyst will support the finance team with the completion of complex finance tasks, and is responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial information for both internal and external users. In addition to this the Financial Analyst will work closely with all areas of the finance team to provide support to various functional areas when needed, will support the month end close process, and will be a key player working on special projects including process documentation and process improvement initiatives.

This role will require significant collaboration with colleagues both within the finance team and with other departments throughout the organization. In addition to the completion of assigned and reoccurring tasks, this role will involve researching and collecting information, investigating opportunities for improvement, and performing analysis to identify trends and variances to support Gardewines operations.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Perform daily reconciliation for US and Canadian bank accounts by ensuring that all bank entries are posted accurately and that any variances are addressed daily.
- Assist with the creation of financial reports and KPI’s.
- Responsible for updating and distribution of internal financial reports and KPI’s on a reoccurring schedule.
- Provide support to all areas within the finance team on an as needed basis by acting as a resource to cover staff absences, and help through periods of high volume.
- Participate in special projects and improvement initiatives as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Must have five years of experience working within a finance team.
- Must have the ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast paced environment.
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office products specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills required to provide information to internal and external customers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus and a track record for managing competing tasks.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of the general accounting practices performed in AR and AP departments.
- Highly organized with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience in the field of Transportation is an asset.

**Physical Requirements**

Some of the physical demands may include, but not be limited to: pro-longed sitting and using a computer and telephone for entire shift etc.
