Purpose of the Role

You will be a key member of the Health Law legal team working closely with lawyers in the Health Law Group to provide the highest level of service to our hospital and health-sector clients, while having the opportunity to cultivate your skills as part of a dynamic and successful national team.

Key Responsibilities
- The key responsibilities of this role are:

- You will be a key player in the investigation of new matters, including dealing with clients to obtain relevant documents and attending witness interviews
- You will review medical records to prepare medical chronologies
- You will assist the Firm’s lawyers with drafting pleadings, preparing affidavits of documents and answering undertakings
- You will retain and instruct experts and prepare expert briefs
- You will be responsible for daily file management
- Collaboration, teamwork and unwavering commitment to excellence are the order of the day, every day

Key Competencies
- Prior experience with professional liability claims or personal injury claims is an asset
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure
- College Law Clerk Diploma or Institute of Law Clerks Ontario Certificate
- Knowledge of iManage, ACL, Kofax PDF, Word, Excel and Outlook
