This is a newly created position. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a key liaison role serving as the voice of HR to the business, and the voice of the business to HR by being knowledgeable of the various HR disciplines, as well as understanding the experiences, expectations and needs of the business groups that they support. The HRBP executes Human Resource programs and services in the following areas: workforce planning, recruitment, orientation and on-boarding, performance management including progressive discipline and termination, employee relations, training and development, reward and recognition and employee engagement. In addition to the local HR role, the HRBP will partner with HR leadership and team members on company-wide HR projects and initiatives. **Responsibilities**: - Responsible for building trusted relationships with the leaders and employees of assigned functional groups in the business to deliver value-added partnership that reflect the strategic business and culture objectives of the organization. - Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. - Support all levels of management in assigned functional groups on organizational structure and design decisions, ensuring changes are properly communicated and documented. - Attend functional team meetings and activities to deeply understand the business, build relationships, and proactively provide HR partnership. - Support leadership in assigned functional groups as they roll out people programs. - Coach all levels of leadership in giving feedback, counseling and discipline. - Supports and, at times leads the full-cycle recruitment process for assigned roles including developing/updating job descriptions, sourcing, and conducting interviews. - Conduct comprehensive new employee on-boarding sessions including supporting the management team through a probationary period - Assist all levels of leadership in assigned functional groups with employee terminations and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind voluntary turnover. - Execute employee engagement programs and activities including employee communications/meetings, rewards, appreciation and recognition activities. - Act in the capacity of an independent, impartial, confidential resource for employees and managers on employee relations issues in support of an effective, positive work environment. - Support the effective handling and administration of employment-related claims raised through Human Rights complaints, ESA violations or complaints, etc. - Provide all levels of management advice and assistance with respect to HR policies and legislation, ensuring that they are accurately interpreted. - Conduct employee workplace investigations, interviewing employees, developing reports and providing recommendations regarding action/corrective action where and as appropriate. - Keep fully apprised of all legislative changes and policy changes impacting human resources in Ontario, and ensure the leadership team, employees, and other key stakeholders are effectively informed in that regard. - Identify opportunities and recommend enhancements to processes/procedures and policies where applicable, teaming with the stakeholders for development and implementation strategies. **Qualifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or equivalent. - 6-8 years of HRBP experience in a food manufacturing environment. - CHRP designation. - Demonstrated competency in strategic business partnering, performance management (including progressive discipline), employee relations (including investigations), recruiting and employee development. - Strong ability to coach and counsel others, conflict management, and interpersonal skills. - In-depth working knowledge of HR-related legislation, including but not limited to the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA) and Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC), etc, Team player with excellent leadership skills, able to motivate others, and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders. - Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities. - Ability to anticipate human resource-related needs and seeks to develop integrated solutions. - All interested applicants who meet the qualifications listed above are invited to submit a resume_
