**Job Overview**
Supporting the Vice President, the Human Resources Administrator will be responsible for the administration of human resources functions for the Company. The role will exercise direct participation in recruitment and hiring, records administration, benefits administration, training, health and safety, and will assist in managing WSIB claims, employee discipline, policy and other employment issues. In general, duties and responsibilities will include:

- Full cycle recruitment from writing and posting job vacancies, screening, interviewing and selection in close coordination with hiring departments, to preparing job offers and final onboarding.
- Gathering, compiling, organizing, safekeeping and maintaining personnel records to keep individual employment records updated of any changes in employment status (salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, temp layoffs, work authorizations, etc.). Maintain the HR database and coordinate closely with Payroll. Prepare employment-related reports as required.
- Administration of the company’s group insurance and retirement benefits through contracted benefit providers; track benefit offers for qualified employees, track benefit invoices, assist in following up benefit claims, attend benefit reviews and communicate information related to employee benefits.
- Employee training: Coordinate and follow up training compliance with operating departments, enroll employees to training courses, source training providers and maintain training records.
- Health and Safety participation as a committee member; set up H & S meetings, write and communicate minutes, participate in workplace inspections (internal or by Ministry representative) and provide management advice to insure H & S compliance and best practices.
- Investigation and reporting of safety incidents, filing and management of WSIB claims including return-to-work plans.
- Assisting managers in dealing with behavioral, performance and disciplinary issues, investigating and documenting incidents and implementing corrective actions from managers. Assist in documenting and implementing the employment termination process.
- Drafting new Company, HR or H & S policies as directed. Maintain policy manuals, including writing /drafting communications pertaining thereto for general employee circulation. Respond to queries regarding policies and other employment-related questions.
- Preparing HR communications or announcements for general circulation as needed by the Vice President.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree or college diploma in human resources management or equivalent academic training/certification.
- 2-3 years Human Resources experience.
- Very good understanding of Ontario employment legislation and regulations - Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, OADA, etc. and the Health and Safety Act.
- Ability to handle HR information and employment issues with high degree of discretion and **confidentiality.**:

- Strong communicator, able to build positive interpersonal relations and deal with others with diplomacy. Excellent written communication skills.
- Keen with details and accuracy especially in handling HR data; able to handle multiple tasks, proficient computer skills (Microsoft suites, internet research, etc.). Experience with HRIS an advantage.

**Other**:
This position requires travel to other offices within Southern Ontario from time to time

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
