**About The Solar Lab**

The Solar Lab is a media company that is geared towards empowering everyday people to go solar. It’s centred around a YouTube channel that's carving out a new lane in the solar space, blending education & entertainment.

**The Position in a Nutshell**

We are looking for a content creator with a punchy editing style and a great sense of humor. This person will play a critical role in the evolution of our fast growing channel.

Initially focusing on creating and deploying short-form content for YouTube, Instagram & Tiktok, this role is designed to evolve into a full-time position that involves the creation/editing of our long-form content for YouTube along with community management.

This role will involve constant training and mentorship from our leadership team. This is a great opportunity for a growth-minded individual who is hungry to learn what it takes to run a successful Youtube channel or business as a creator.

**Who You Are**:

- Growth Minded, you’re looking to learn and grow. You love learning new skills, testing ideas and are open to iteration based on real life feedback
- Creative, you understand that what sets a content apart is going the extra mile and adding some post production kick.
- Consistent, you know creating content can feel repetitive and that results can take time, but understand that every peice of has to hit just as hard as the last.
- Organized, you know where files are at all times, things happen fast and you are always prepared.
- Funny, you’re not afraid to crack a joke

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Managing the creative process for all short-form video content, from receiving raw footage to publishing high quality videos
- Appropriately edit, resize, and modulate high quality content, in an entertaining and engaging manner
- Experiment with our content and use data to find new ways to engage and grow our audience
- Learning and developing your video editing skills to assist in the creation of long form YouTube content
- Community management and engaging with our audience

**Qualifications**:

- 2+ years of experience with content creation and/or video editing, for YouTube and social media
- Understanding of all social platforms, including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok &
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Remote, but has to be able to attend in-person meetings

Experience with Final Cut and Photoshop is considered an asset.

Knowledge or an interest in solar is considered an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
