As a Purchasing Coordinator, you are responsible for the efficient management of the supplies required to complete construction projects. He/she works closely with project managers, foremen, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure the availability of materials, equipment, and services at the right time, at the right price, and according to the required quality standards.
**Responsibilities**:
- Submit requests for quotes, gather documents, and present a summary table.
- Place orders for materials, equipment, and services while respecting project budgets and deadlines.
- Monitor deliveries and manage delays or non-conformities.
- Maintain supplier databases and price lists.
- Participate in evaluating supplier performance and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with project managers to prioritize orders based on project progress. construction sites.
- Collaborate with construction site teams to ensure the smooth running of logistics operations and communicate any deadlines or adjustments.
- Coordinate the monitoring of batch management once takeoffs are completed.
- Monitor reels of wire for returns and credit to suppliers.
- Manage purchasing documents, purchase orders, and invoices according to company procedures.
- Update order tracking and receipt dashboards.
- Look for opportunities to optimize costs and improve procurement processes.
**Skills and qualifications sought**:
- Degree in Procurement Management Procurement, administration, or a related field.
- 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position, ideally in construction.
- Good knowledge of building materials, industry standards, and purchasing practices.
- Proficiency with IT tools (Office Suite (Excel), ERP software, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly developed organizational skills, rigor, and autonomy.
- Negotiation and communication skills.
