**Job Purpose**

Reporting to the Yard Foreman, the Truck Driver is responsible for operating a tandem truck for transporting building materials to specified locations in the Perth and surrounding area on a set schedule, between 7am and 5pm. Driver operator requires a DZ license, experience driving a tandem truck and ability to operate a Moffet forklift and a boom (0-8 tonne).

**Key Responsibilities**
- Operates a tandem truck that transports cargo to and from specified locations on time and according to schedule.
- Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all provincial and company safety regulations.
- Conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
- Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods.
- Coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured.
- Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport.

Other Responsibilities
- Perform related responsibilities and duties as assigned by your supervisor. This may include involvement in shipping/receiving as required.

**Education and Experience**
- Minimum 2 years’ prior experience truck driving experience and boom operation
- DZ truck certification, and experience driving a tandem truck
- Boom ticket
- High school diploma or equivalent

**Skills / abilities**
- Ability to operate a Moffet forklift and a boom (0-8 tonne).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong time management skills.
- Integrity, matched with good judgement and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of construction process and building supplies.
- Familiarity with dealing with contractors, deliveries, scheduling.

**Salary**: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
