- paced, fun environment. Main Street Animal Hospital is a moderately sized clinic with 4 veterinarians and a large client base. We are currently looking to add a energetic, self-starter to our team of dedicated professionals.
The Animal Care Attendant provides care and the basic needs of animals that are patients of Main Street Animal Hospital. The duties of this position are primarily cleaning and re-stocking of the hospital but the ACA with also be assisting the RVT's with animal handling and technical procedures.
**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Handle animals as required and restrain animals
- Feed animals, with direction from the Registered Veterinary Technician
- Walk hospitalized dogs several times a day to provide exercise
- Clean surgical instruments and prepare them for sterilization
- Patrol hospital grounds daily, picking up any trash or stool material. Empty garbage bins
- Launder and dry towels and blankets
- General housekeeping duties (sweeping, mopping, etc.)
- Perform other duties as assigned
**SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Ability to handle and restrain animals using appropriate procedures to ensure the safety of staff
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
- Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency
- Exceptional customer service skills and a positive attitude when dealing with clients and staff
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Work well with all employees and ensure that your actions support the hospital
- Must be flexible to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
**Salary**: From $15.00 per hour
