Field Monitoring Technician

**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the **Monitoring Technician** is a member of the Aquatech Dewatering Team utilizing technical, communication and organizational skills to help promote the overall growth of Aquatech’s range of services and in particular groundwater control and treatment services. The Monitoring Technician will work closely with Field Operations and Senior Staff to perform daily monitoring and maintenance of groundwater control systems, treatment and filtration systems, as well as promoting safe work practices as per Aquatech’s Health & Safety Policy. Understanding environmental regulations is a major component of this position, specifically in relation to contamination of groundwater resources.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Monitor all pumping and related accessories daily to ensure proper functioning while ensuring safety is a top priority.
- Inspect and test accuracy of water level instrumentation on a daily basis and submit records of water level, flow data and water quality.
- Report daily records of site information, flow data, job site changes, etc to Supervisor electronically.
- Work in compliance to Regulation 903 & Permits to Take Water (MOE)
- All paperwork to be handed in daily to ensure invoicing is on time and inventory is live - all paperwork includes, but is not limited to the following: FSR (Field Service Reports), Delivery Slips, Return slips, Record of Sales, DERT (Delivery/Exchange/Return/Transfer) Forms, 3rd party packing slips, commissioning reports, decommissioning reports, etc.
- Follow all standard operating procedures according to policy for the issuance of PO’s, WO’s, Delivery/Return slips, additions to contract, alike
- Diagnose system and/or mechanical failures on site.
- Maintain diesel and electric pumps daily on job sites.
- Perform on-site repairs on pumps and equipment by adjusting all dewatering system components and, if required, troubleshoot with certified mechanic
- Perform preventative maintenance on pumps and equipment on-site.
- Liaise with on-site customer staff and ensure they are operating within environmental guidelines.
- Maintain vehicle in a cleanly and organized manner - ensure safety, cleanliness, and appearance is a top priority.
- Comprehensive training in construction industry health and safety, maintain certification of same, including all necessary training and certifications in order to perform job responsibilities.

**Required Knowledge and Experience**:

- Valid Class G Driver’s License in good standing
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Strong reading and mathematical skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
- Adhere to and uphold Aquatech's H&S Policy & OHSA, PPE requirements
- Water/Wastewater/Civil/ Mechanical Engineering or related
- Evenings, weekends (on-call) and travel within Ontario is a component of this position
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

**Salary**: $18.00-$35.00 per hour
