**Organizational Overview**:
Guru Nanak’s Free Kitchen (GNFK) is a grassroots, volunteer-driven nonprofit organization that has been serving nutritious meals and dignity to vulnerable individuals in Vancouver since 2006. Rooted in the Sikh principle of _Seva_(selfless service), GNFK provides food security and community support without judgment, barriers, or conditions. As we expand our programs and deepen our community impact, we are seeking an Executive Director who will serve as the administrative, financial, and operational anchor of our evolving organization.

**Position Purpose**:
The Executive Director will serve as the strategic and operational leader of GNFK. This individual will be responsible for implementing the strategic vision of the Board, ensuring operational efficiency, building financial resilience, and fostering meaningful engagement with the community, volunteers, donors, and partners. The ED will steward a values-based leadership approach—leading with compassion, accountability, and service.

**Key Areas of Responsibility**:
**1. Organizational Leadership & Administration**
- Oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring the organization runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal policies, procedures, and operational frameworks.
- Manage scheduling, logistics, compliance documents, and governance reporting.
- Lead weekly check-ins with Leads (Finance, Programs, Volunteer, Events, Fundraising, etc.) to ensure alignment and accountability.
- Support Board governance processes: prepare agendas, take minutes, document action items, and coordinate follow-ups.

**2. Financial Management**
- Develop the annual operating budget in collaboration with the Finance Lead and Treasurer.
- Monitor income and expenditures monthly and ensure fiscal accountability across all projects and events.
- Ensure compliance with CRA regulations and provide year-end financial summaries for audit/reporting.
- Support donor database management and issue charitable tax receipts when required.
- Manage honorariums, expense reimbursements, and vendor payments transparently and efficiently.

**3. Fundraising & Donor Relations**
- Lead all fundraising initiatives including seasonal drives (Bike, Toy), Golf Tournament, and community-led campaigns.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, foundations, and grantmakers.
- Prepare fundraising reports, impact stories, and proposals in collaboration with the Fundraising Lead.
- Ensure the creation and execution of donor recognition plans and post-event reports.

**4. Events Planning & Oversight**
- Oversee planning and delivery of all major events (e.g., meal service campaigns, outreach drives, Town Halls, Gala).
- Coordinate with Events Lead to ensure every initiative is staffed, resourced, and evaluated.
- Implement risk management and safety protocols at all public-facing GNFK activities.
- Evaluate event outcomes through feedback, impact assessments, and stakeholder debriefs.

**5. Community & Public Relations**
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for GNFK and represent the organization at public events, media interviews, and civic forums.
- Develop relationships with local nonprofits, religious organizations, civic groups, and media outlets to amplify GNFK’s voice.
- Ensure culturally sensitive and values-aligned messaging across all public channels.
- Supervise the creation of monthly newsletters, community reports, press releases, and social media content.

**6. Volunteer Engagement & People Development**
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Lead to design and implement volunteer onboarding, training, and recognition systems.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, psychological safety, and intergenerational mentorship.
- Support conflict resolution, wellness check-ins, and performance dialogues within the volunteer community.
- Encourage leadership development and succession planning within volunteer teams.

**7. Strategic Development & Accountability**
- Translate Board priorities into actionable plans, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Lead quarterly reflection and impact review sessions with Leads and the Board.
- Develop program evaluations, community feedback reports, and annual impact assessments.
- Support the Board in identifying opportunities for strategic growth, partnerships, or innovation.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- Minimum 3-5 years of nonprofit leadership or equivalent experience in community-based administration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, oversee financial systems, and ensure compliance.
