Maintenance Technician/technicien de Maintenance

**Duties include**:

- Maintaining the physical integrity of the building through general maintenance and up-keep of the assigned properties.
- Cleaning and repairing items in vacant and occupied units (minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc).
- Completing physically demanding work which includes the use of ladders, power tools and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven relevant mechanical/electrical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills.
- General understanding of basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
- Ability to multi-task and remain detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to bend, push and pull as well as go up and down stairs.

**Education & Experience**:

- High School Diploma and 5 years work related experience.
- Previous experience in residential maintenance or related field.
- Previous experience renting apartments and assisting tenants an asset.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation respecting residential tenancies in New Brunswick and the rights and obligations of Landlords and Tenants an asset.

**Fonctions essentielles du poste**:

- Le maintien de l'intégrité physique de l'édifice par l'entretien général des propriétés attribuées.
- Effectuer le nettoyage et les réparations mineures (p.ex. électricité, plomberie, construction générale).
- L'achèvement des travaux exigeant physiquement avec l'utilisation des échelles, des outils électriques et et en soulevant de jusqu'à 50 lb.

**Qualifications**:

- Capacité à trouver des solutions et à résoudre les problèmes de manière efficace.
- Bonnes compétences en entretien et en nettoyage.
- Connaissance générale de base de la plomberie, de l'électricité et de la menuiserie.
- Bonnes connaissances en matière de réparation et d'entretein générale des systèmes de chauffage et de climatisation.
- Excellentes aptitudes en communication et en organisation.
- Capacité à effectuer plusieurs tâches à la fois avec précision.
- Capacité à faire preuve de jugement et d'initiative.
- Capacité à travailler seul et en équipe.
- Capacité à soulever des charges allant jusqu'à 50 lb (23 kg).
- Capacité à se pencher, pousser, tirer ainsi qu'à descendre et à monter les escaliers.
- Compétences informatiques serait un atout (Word, Excel, courriel et Internet).

**Formation et expérience**
- Diplôme d'études secondaires ou cinq années d'expérience reliées à l'emploi.
- L'expérience de l'entretien résidentiel ou dans un domaine connexe.
- Expérience requise en location d'appartement et en assistance aux locataires.
- Expérience dans le domaine de la vente ou dans un domaine connexe.
- Connaissance des lois applicables sur les locations résidentielles au Nouveau-Brunswick et sur les droits et les obligations des propriétaires et des locataires serait un atout.
