SSRIA is a federally and provincially registered not-for-profit industry association whose mission is to accelerate the adoption of innovative solutions to reduce carbon in the built environment. Our collaborative approach and industry-led solutions will demonstrate Canadian leadership and drive economic development.
Our membership reflects the wide range of professions covered in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry and includes leaders in design and engineering, product and technology development, construction, and building management. The current membership includes nearly 60 organizations active in these areas with an even larger and wider range of interested stakeholders whom we work with in various capacities.
Since 2020, SSRIA has been delivering funding for projects that would demonstrate low carbon solutions, support capacity building in the AEC industry, and build a vibrant network to enable industry leadership towards net-zero carbon buildings.
**Position Description**
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Manager will use project management tools, processes, and experience to lead the management of assigned SSRIA programs, including the Green Building Technology Network. They will work with external project teams, overseeing individual project budgets, schedules, and reporting, and consolidating this information to allow for risk and problem identification while demonstrating program progress to leadership.
**Functional Responsibilities**
Stakeholder Relations
- Establishes solid working relationships with project teams and other key stakeholders.
- Advises project teams on reporting and reimbursement requirements and notifies them of any issues or defaults on their funding agreement.
- Suggests potential members and partnerships that support SSRIA strategic objectives.
Project Management
- Manages individual projects within a program portfolio with varied deliverables, metrics, budgets, schedules and milestones.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio budget and schedule that supports regular reporting to leadership and funders and ensures positive cash flow.
- Review progress reports and reimbursement requests from project teams against contractual obligations, ensuring all milestone activities and deliverables have been met and submissions are complete and accurate.
- Analyse individual projects and overall programs for issues and risks and develop appropriate solutions and mitigation plans.
- Develops milestone deliverable and payment schedules for approved projects.
- Coordinate with the Communications team for the development of project related promotional needs.
- Evaluate programs and implement necessary interventions to address areas for improvement.
- Identify projects that support GBTN or other SSRIA strategic objectives.
Data and Reporting
- Develop reporting templates for project teams in alignment with SSRIA funder reporting requirements.
- Consolidate individual project data into a central database that can be used to run reports on portfolio results to be shared internally and publicly.
- Support Executive Director with reporting to the Board of Directors and Funders.
Skills and Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in environmental studies, energy management, engineering, business, or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in program/project coordination or program/project management, with a minimum of 2 years working in the building industry.
- Knowledge and experience working in the following areas is considered an asset: o energy efficiency or high-performance building design and construction, o government grant management and reporting, o not-for profit-sector.
- Proven project management skills which support the planning, scheduling, and successful delivery of multi-year programs.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with an ability to communicate with various stakeholders including private and public sector stakeholders.
- Exceptional skills in communication, organization, decision making, problem solving and time management.
**Position Type and Location**
This is a full-time position with a 35-hour work week. The salary range for this position is $68,000 to $75,000 per year with 3-weeks paid vacation.
