Our client, a leading company specializing in sewer infrastructure projects across Ontario, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Estimator to join their team. **Position Summary**:
The Cost Estimator will play a pivotal role in project planning and execution by accurately forecasting project costs. This includes analyzing project specifications, collaborating with various stakeholders, and preparing detailed cost estimates to support bids, proposals, and budgets for sewer infrastructure projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Cost Analysis & Estimation**:

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for sewer infrastructure projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine scope and required resources.
- **Bid Preparation**:

- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop competitive bids and proposals.
- Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
- **Project Budgeting**:

- Support the creation of project budgets and monitor cost variances during project execution.
- Provide recommendations to minimize cost overruns and improve project profitability.
- **Collaboration & Communication**:

- Work closely with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to gather necessary data and insights.
- Present cost estimates and justifications to stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
- **Market Research & Data Management**:

- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction methods to ensure accurate estimations.
- Maintain a database of historical cost data and project metrics for future reference.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating in sewer infrastructure
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficient in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, HCSS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of sewer systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
- **Soft Skills**:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
