Kidz Choice Preschool is a licensed early childhood program committed to nurturing curious, capable, and confident learners. We offer full day play based programming for children ages 3 to 5 with flexible options for families. We believe in team work, compassion, and meeting every child where they're at. We follow the Calgary Board of Education calendar, including all major holidays and school breaks. We also provide organizational days and ongoing professionals development opportunities to support our staffs growth and success.

**We are currently hiring for the position of** **Full Time Classroom Assistant for the September 2025 - June 2026 school year**.

This is a contract position and there is potential for long term employment.

**Qualifications**:

- **Level 2 or 3 Early Childhood Educator Certificate**
- **Must Have or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid / CPR Certification**
- **Must Have or be willing to obtain a valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search**
- **Experience working with preschool aged children**
- **Knowledge of Alberta’s Early Learning and Childcare Act and Regulations**
- **Familiarity with Alberta Curriculum Framework - Flight - is an asset**

**Characteristics and Responsibilities**:

- Provides assistance to and takes direction from the Lead Teacher
- Ensures that the health, safety and well being of each child is the utmost priority
- Assist in managing behaviors using positive guidance strategies
- Organized and works well both as part of a collaborative team as well as independently
- Supervise outdoor play and mealtimes
- Help facilitate play-based learning activities, contribute to planning and reflection
- Self-motivated, responsible, reliable, dependable, positive and enthusiastic
- Communicates effectively with children, their families and staff members
- Attends all staff meetings, toy washing days, non-instructional days and any other events scheduled outside of regular class times
- Performs cleaning and preparation tasks that include lifting, carrying and pushing classroom furniture
- Willingness to perform other duties and tasks as outlined in the contract
