**JOB DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Provides leadership to aquatic staff: assists with evaluating, coaching, and mentoring staff
- Discusses issues and concerns with parents regarding classes and programs, seeking proactive, customer-centred solutions
- Assists the aquatic programmer and coordinator with the orientation and training of Aquatic staff
- Ensures facility policies, procedures and regulations are adhered to
- Ensures proper documentation is completed for accidents and incidents
- Provides routine reports on aquatic activities such as session attendance and participant progress
- Assists with the implementation of aquatic volunteer programs
- Lifeguards and instructs as required
- Monitors first aid and program supply inventories

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High school diploma, two years of experience working as a life guarding/ swimming instructor and proven aquatic leadership experience are required
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills
- Must be a solid role model with demonstrated leadership abilities
- Computer skills including Word and Excel are required
- Working knowledge of the Intelli system is an asset.

**REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS**:

- Current National Lifeguard Award
- Current Standard first aid with CPR Level C
- Current Swim Instructor (YMCA, Lifesaving Society, West Shore Swim Instructor or equivalent) certification
