**JOB TITLE**: Facilities Manager

**REPORTS TO**: Director of Operations

**DESCRIPTION**:
We are hiring a Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance work and schedules within our various locations in Burnaby. As a result of the need to travel between the locations (about a 5-10 minute drive apart, depending on traffic), a valid BC drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle is a must. The position will oversee our Maintenance Workers, and be responsible for all functions of building & grounds maintenance for our various sites. They will be responsible for maintaining records in each building for drills and various safety reviews, as well as organizing maintenance for all equipment and vehicles pwned by PHS.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Grade 12 graduation
- 5-7 years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work
- Education in Facilities Management an asset
- Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance work, including maintenance planning & scheduling.
- Understanding of safety regulations within the workplace
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Certificate in First Aid
- Successful clearance of a criminal record check
- Provincial Violence Prevention Training an asset
- Previous experience working in a low-barrier/supportive housing environment an asset

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**

- Thorough understanding of building maintenance codes and safety standards
- Ability to communication effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize.
- Understanding of and adherence to organizational philosophy and approach.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Supervises and oversees the day to day operations of the maintenance work done at our various facilities.
- Establishes & tracks scheduled for preventative maintenance on all building equipment/systems (ex. HVAC, Fire Suppression systems, etc.)
- Ensures our buildings and equipment meet all safety, security, and fire regulations and policies.
- Alerts Management when repairs or replacements above the scope of the Facilitities Maintenance Workers is required.
- Assists in performing minor day to day repairs with the Facilities Maintenance Workers.
- Monitors work performed by contractors, prepares estimates of labour and material costs, contacts external contractors and tradespeople to obtain quotes, and arranges for major repairs and maintenance work.
- Completes and maintains related records and documentation such as maintenance logs and incident reports.
- Tracks maintenance schedules for all PHS vehicles, and arranges for regular and emergency maintenance/repairs.
- Monitors maintenance and housekeeping supplies. Places purchase orders with external suppliers, receives supplies, checks invoices against orders and goods received, stores and distributes supplies, and contacts suppliers to obtain and provide general information.
- Assists with monitoring the safe functioning of the building and its residents, checking that doors and windows are secure, testing safety equipment, and obtaining appropriate services in emergencies.
- Coordinates with OH&S Coordinator for all emergency drills.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

This position will be on-call in case of emergencies.

**Salary**: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
