**Case Worker and Outreach Programs coordinator**
**Position Summary**:
The Case Worker will provide direct support and advocacy for 2SLGBTIQ+ refugees and newcomers facing housing challenges and integration issues. This role will focus on individualized support, ensuring clients have access to resources, including housing, mental health services, and legal assistance. You will be responsible for connecting an organization with the surrounding community through advocacy, Social media, community partnerships and event organizing and assist in project delivery. perform community outreach responsibilities on behalf of the organization.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized support plans based on the unique needs of each client.
- Provide emotional support and advocacy for clients navigating the housing system and accessing settlement services.
- Act as a liaison between clients and service providers, ensuring comprehensive and culturally relevant support.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources and agencies available for 2SLGBTIQ+ refugees.
- Facilitate access to mental health support, employment resources, and legal assistance as needed.
- Monitor client progress and adjust support plans accordingly, providing ongoing encouragement and accountability.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation of services provided.
- Coordinate and manage the transit pass to the eligible members.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in direct service provision or case management, preferably with marginalized populations.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by 2SLGBTIQ+ individuals and refugees.
- Excellent advocacy and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner and demonstrate empathy toward clients’ lived experiences.
- Proficiency in the use of computer software for case management and reporting.
**Additional Requirements**
- Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
- Community support references required.
Pay: From $2,500.00 per month
