**Responsibilities**:

- Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons
- Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes
- **Large focus on preparing a Bridging Course/Curriculum for your students based on their current level, needs and goals
- Monitoring students’ progress, guiding learners toward learning goals and preparing reports to be shared with the parents/guardians
- Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Position and Qualification Requirements:

- Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in English language
- Certificate or degree in English language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second-language acquisition, or related field
- At least 2 years teaching / tutoring English Language

- A Bachelor of Education Degree in Primary/Secondary or equivalent
- Membership, in good standing, with the Ontario College of Teachers is a strong asset
- Alternatively, a copy of Criminal Record is required
- Undergraduate degree (or the equivalent) in English
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and English with the ability to adjust style to communicate to different audiences (i.e., children, teens, staff, etc.)
- Demonstrated maturity, creativity and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to adapt to the varying needs of the students
- Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, engaging and welcoming demeanor
- Excellent knowledge of student development and supervision principles and practices
- Demonstrated passion for the intellectual, social and emotional development of students within the respective age groups
- Ability to adapt learning plans, strategies and methods when the classroom approaches are not getting measurable results. Ability to differentiate teaching approach and strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of all students in the classroom
- Experience with Structured Literacy and the delivery of Direct Instruction programing is an asset

Compensation:
$25-$45 per hour, depending on experience, class size being taught (maximum of 5 students) and location (online or in-person)

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
