Finance Coordinator

WICWC is looking for a Finance Coordinator.

- West Island Cancer Wellness Centre is looking for a Finance Coordinator, _**_2-3 days a week_** _to join the team. Our team values collaboration and people._

**_What you can expect as part of the WICWC job experience_**
- Ensure the effective and efficient overall day-to-day and year-end financial processes and administration of Payables, Deposits, Cash Flows, Bank Loans, Payrolls, Government subsidies and rebates (if applicable), etc.
- Protect and manage all assets of the charity:

- Ensure that all WICWC policies adopted by the Board of Directors are respected and followed by all staff.
- Analyze and review the approved investments of WICWC’s Sustainability funds
- Manage and properly account for any large capital donation to WICWC
- Recommend new policies and procedures to senior management, as required to respect the aims and objectives of the WICWC
- Oversee the year-end financial Audit process. Ensure that WICWC accounts are prepared and disclosed to the Auditors in the form required by funders and relevant statutory bodies (e.g. Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Quebec)
- Oversee, update and present yearly budgets and financial statements for approval as required
- Provide monthly financial reports to WICWC Senior Management and quarterly financial reports as required by the Board of Directors.
- Ensure that the WICWC applies its financial resources exclusively in pursuance of its objectives. (The charity MUST NOT spend money on activities which are not included within its objectives, no matter how worthwhile or charitable those activities are).
- Ensure the financial stability of the WICWC by advising Senior Management.
- When requested, analyze proposals and examine their financial consequences

**_About you_**
- You are skilled at accounting (proficient at QuickBooks or other acceptable industry standard software) _
- You are someone who has at least 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting_
- You have excellent Microsoft Excel skills_
- You are very familiar with Canadian and Quebec charity laws and best practices_
- (Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec legislation)_
- You are determined to safeguard the good name and uphold the values of the WICWC _
- You can ensure that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place. _
- You are an excellent communicator in both English and French._
- You have a strong morals and ethics, particularly surrounding confidentiality_

- All our programs and services are free of charge, thanks to our fundraising efforts, and are created to fulfill the need for Psychosocial cancer care and complement traditional medical practices. Through our wellness programs, participants will receive personal support, gain coping mechanisms, discover additional alternatives, and become better educated about their specific illnesses. In addition, we will help them gain more control of their lives, find strength, reduce feelings of isolation, and continue to foster hope, regardless of the stage of their disease._
