We are a land developer, a home builder, a fundraiser, and a mortgage holder. In support of our homebuilding operations, Habitat GTA operates retail home improvement stores called ReStores, which collect donations of home furnishings, appliances, and renovation materials and sells them to the public, with all proceeds helping us build more homes.

**The Opportunity**

Habitat GTA constructs our homes with a hybrid model of subcontractors, vendors, staff and volunteers. This manner of construction requires an individual who can effectively manage these very different kinds of workers.

Our current product line mainly consists of multi-unit split level town homes and a site may have a single block of units or multiple blocks. Depending on the size of the development, sites are typically active for between 1 and 3 years. We're seeking an experienced individual in the construction sector to lend their skills and make a difference in their local community.

**Your Impact**
- Act as an ambassador for Habitat GTA with all entities on site
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and vendor’s onsite activities on a daily basis
- Develop and manage construction schedules in conjunction with the construction team
- Develop and schedule look ahead construction plans for onsite activity
- Assist in cost control at the site level through enforcement of subcontractor scope of work agreements and management of additional costs
- Monitor and enforce quality standards for all site construction activity
- Monitor and certify subcontractor contract progress via completion slips
- Complete daily logs for onsite construction activity via Procore
- Coordinate and manage all inspections with 3rd party inspectors, project consultants, building inspectors and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Chair and manage trade coordination meetings.
- Supervise and coordinate on-site volunteers, including site preparation, assigning specific tasks, providing necessary tools and materials, and supervising clean-up.
- Coordinate on-site material acquisition and use
- Obtain quotes and purchase orders with management team for material and services needed in accordance with company procurement policies.
- Recruit, teach, coach volunteers on safety protocol, tool usage and tasks.
- Lead onsite project safety including: Daily Health & Safety on-site due diligence monitoring, Participation in site JHSC, chairing toolbox talks, disciplinary actions.
- Ensure requirements of families are met
- Communicate with the Project/Volunteer Coordinators for resourcing and feedback
- Maintain accurate and up to date project documentation in conjunction with management team via Procore.
- Attend training sessions or seminars pertinent to this position
- Accountabilities for duties and activities assigned by the VP of Construction or Director of Construction
- Participate in PDI inspections, TARION reporting and deficiency resolution.

**What You Bring**
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the residential low rise construction sector.
- Experience with townhouse construction is considered an asset.
- A construction related degree or equivalent work experience.
- Understanding of OBC 2012 part 9, NBC, WHMIS, OHSA and Tarion
- General knowledge of civil work and site servicing, foundations construction, carpentry, roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, drywall and finishing construction techniques and standards.
- Eye for detail/organization
- Flexible work schedule, typically Monday through Friday 7am - 4pm with occasional weekend work and additional hours as required.
- Willing to work from assigned sites within the greater Toronto area.

**Skills**
- Sound judgment and prioritization skills
- Strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills are essential
- Ability to work with skilled and non-skilled volunteers, contractors, trades and HFH stakeholders
- Ability to read Civil, mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural drawings & specifications.
- Strong understanding of construction administration processes including shop drawings
