**The Role**:
The Regional SEO Specialist role is responsible for developing and implementing the organic search strategy in each business unit (Student Placement, and IELTS) within the region. As well as developing the site structure and regional strategy you’ll drive SEO strategy and implementation for IDP Canada, while supporting and helping the wider team to implement SEO best practices.
- Develop an organic growth strategy that works across the region to deliver tangible business outcomes (lead generation, organic traffic, and Ecommerce transactions).
- Co-ordinate with development teams, marketing teams to deliver the region’s strategy
- Ensure key pages are crawlable and indexable, along with maintaining basic schema markup, hreflang tags, sitemaps and redirects to ensure IDP and IELTS websites can be easily understood by key search engines
- Run regular check and audits on relevant sites to ensure they continue to rank for existing terms and have basic optimizations like titles, meta descriptions and other on-page optimizations
- Conduct audits to gauge the SEO health of the region’s websites from indexation, rankings, crawl rate, site speed and availability
- Determine and deliver actions required based on audit outcomes to yourself, developers and marketing teams to address
- Collect and disseminate web metrics to demonstrate status and progress

- Utilize the latest techniques to ensure high ranking across pages including:

- Site structure and architecture improvements
- internal linking optimizations
- Identify duplicate content issues
- Meta & Heading tags management
- Page speed & image optimization
- Use of heading, canonical, no-follow, and hreflang tags
- Manage sitemaps
- Structured data / rich & featured snippets implementation
- Language & location tags
- Content improvement recommendations based on competitor analysis
- Identify existing link opportunities and new local link building opportunities
- Put in place best practices for Google Business Profile listings
- Identify new content opportunities and coordinate with content writers to develop
- Auditing of existing content to identify content to improve and ways to minimize cannibalizations and duplication.
- Work with the IDP SEO Community and contribute experience and lessons learned
- Leverage successful SEO ideas / initiatives from across country and share that within the IDP SEO Community
- Act as one POC for all region SEO requirements
- Contribute to building a positive work environment within the team based on a shared commitment to IDP’s values and quality
- Strong team collaboration with regional Marketing team (Brand, Paid, Social, Automated, Operations)
- Manage budget and resource allocations effectively to deliver business priorities
- Exercise appropriate stewardship over IDP assets and intellectual property
- Expenditure is in line with agreed budget and business priorities
- Undertake any other lawful duties as reasonably directed by management

**Experience & Qualifications**:

- Educated to Graduation level or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in organic search space, local business optimization, search engine ranking factors and on-page and off-page optimization
- Strong understanding of content for SEO, on-page SEO, and Local SEO
- Strong understanding of keyword research, technical SEO, responsive site (mobile)
- Reporting & tracking SEO performance on regular basis
- Must have good understanding of Google Keyword Planner, Google search console, Google Trends, Google Analytics.
- Must have good understanding of Screaming Frog & other SEO tools like SuperMetrics, Ahrefs or similar (Dragon Metrics experience a plus, along with SimilarWeb)
- Experience using Content Management Systems, Experience with Headless CMS’ and JavaScript Frameworks an advantage
- Reporting & tracking SEO performance on regular basis
- Basic IT Skills - MS office or Google equivalen
