HSET Data & Systems Analyst Intern (Summer 2025)
About the Role
Ensign Energy Services is seeking a data-driven, detail-oriented intern to join our Global HSET team as a HSET Data & Systems Analyst Intern for Summer 2025. Based in our Downtown Calgary office, this role offers hands-on experience supporting global health, safety, environment, and training operations — with a strong emphasis on data reporting, analytics, and systems administration.
You’ll work closely with key leaders to support Ensign’s digital HSE initiatives, manage compliance data, streamline reporting processes, and ensure accuracy across our safety and training platforms
What You’ll Do
Data & Reporting
- Assist in collecting, analyzing, and preparing HSE data for quarterly reports to the Board of Directors and Executive Team.
- Compile and submit incident and hours-worked data to internal and industry systems (e.g., ISNET, Veriforce).
- Help build dashboards and visuals to communicate trends and KPIs using tools like Excel or Power BI.

Systems & Compliance Support
- Support the Learning Management System (LMS) by tracking, assigning, and verifying employee training records.
- Assist in the administration and data mapping of Global Skills (EHS Insight) and GRMS systems.
- Help migrate and update HSE documents into new formats and upload to Ensign’s Management System.

Project Involvement
- Contribute to the North American Document Consolidation Project by organizing and standardizing health and safety documents.
- Work cross-functionally with field and office teams to ensure accurate and timely data flow.

What We’re Looking For
- Enrolled in or recently completed a diploma/degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Data Analytics, or a related program.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, formulas); Power BI, Tableau, or data visualization experience is a plus.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Interest in health & safety systems, compliance, or operations analytics.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset.
