**Ruby Soho Bar** (587 king street west) is looking for Line Cooks and Dishwashers to join our Kitchen Team

Our **Kitchen **delivers the best possible food experience to all guests. Position responsibilities include preparation of food, working service, cleaning and closing of the kitchen. Applicants must be hardworking, respectful, have a good attitude and a good understanding of food and hospitality. Having related culinary experience in the kitchen or a classroom setting would be an asset.

Must have legal permission to work in Canada.

**LINE COOK & PREP COOK**

The Line and Prep Cook’s role responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Take direction from the Executive Chef, Chef De Cuisine and Sous Chef.
- Arrive to work 15 minutes early to change into uniform.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
- Prepare food for service.
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff (Line Cook only).
- Take measures to minimize food waste.
- Clean up station and record food wastage.
- Unload and store deliveries.
- Stock inventory appropriately and report low levels to management.
- Monitor product freshness and rotate old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant.
- Ensure that food comes out in high quality and presentation, and in a timely fashion. (Line Cook only)
- Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Report kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.
- Arrive at work with a high-level of personal hygiene.
- Refrain from consuming ANY alcohol or marijuana before or during shift.
- Support other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests.

**DISHWASHER**

The Dishwasher’s role responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Arrive to work 15 minutes early to change into uniform.
- Ensure the availability of clean dishes by washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and restocking the kitchen.
- Clean machines and appliances used in the kitchen.
- Change dishwasher chemicals and refill the kitchen soap dispensers and paper towels.
- Unload and store deliveries.
- Sweep and mop floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled, and assist in washroom cleanups when required.
- Empty garbage and break down boxes, taking them to the garbage area.
- Support other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed.
- Report kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.
- Arrive at work with a high-level of personal hygiene.
- Refrain from consuming ANY alcohol or marijuana before or during shift.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Seasonal
Contract length: 6-7 months
Part-time hours: 40 per week

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour
