The Opportunity
The Production Manager, reporting to the Operations Director, is responsible for the overall success of the production process. This role ensure daily operations meet production schedules, safety regulations, and quality standards while also satisfying customer needs. This position is also responsible for developing and implementing strategic performance metrics and targets that align with company goals, and ensuring all production employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Your Impact
- Oversee all manufacturing and processing procedures, the setting of machine or equipment controls, as well as the production and inspection processes
- Oversee all workmanship to ensure high standards and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and standards, with a strong focus on safety protocols, quality control, and cost management
- Manage and allocate departmental resources and workload, including scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and delegating tasks to the team.
- Collaborate with other employees and/or teams to optimize production processes, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all team members
- Participate in site and workplace inspections
- Perform quarterly physical inventory counts
- Attend HACCP committee meetings

Your Experience, Skills & Education
- 5+ years of experience in a feed production facility is preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role within a manufacturing setting
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
- Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports
- Ability to supervise and motivate a team to achieve and exceed their goals
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
- Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations
