Convergint is looking for a full-time, team-oriented, results-driven Structured Cabling Technician to join our amazing culture in Vancouver. As a Structured Cabling Technician, you will be responsible for the installation of structured cabling within our Security Projects team. This position is intended to mentor and provide proper training for future advancement.

**What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”**
- Install structured cabling and support system
- Terminate Structured Cabling at the end user location and communication room
- Perform the necessary tests after installation and makes the necessary corrections.
- Label properly all the components of a Structured Cabling infrastructure
- Produce As built documents and accurate Closing Project Documents
- Troubleshoot Cabling Problems
- Evaluate Equipment and Hardware requirements for projects and work orders
- Accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service. Takes ownership of onsite project including safety, quality and performance. Observes and practices Convergint Quality Standards.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

**What You’ll Need**
- Basic construction skills and understanding of system plans
- Basic ability to read and understand blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support)
- Familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted, may require assistance with more complex specifications.
- Developing exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
- Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper) and ability to read blueprints and drawings; solid math skills (for some positions, this may include calculating area, velocity, resistance, voltage, etc.)
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

**Requirements**:

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Commscope & Belden Certification an asset
- First Aid Level 1 is considered an asset
- Colleague must supply/possess their own basic hand tools.
- You will be responsible for own transportation to & from job sites.
