**_The Opportunity_**
Reporting to the Supervisor of Court Clerks, the Clerk of the Court provides support to the Territorial, Small Claims, Supreme, and Court of Appeal courts of Yukon, and operational support to the Whitehorse Court Registry. This position is primarily responsible for keeping an accurate record of court proceedings, including digitally recording them. In addition to keeping the official record (writing down the results of the court proceedings), the incumbent is responsible for calling cases in court, preparing and signing court orders, preparing court records for judicial review, and filing and processing legal documents in accordance with court forms, practice directives, rules and applicable legislation. The position also provides legal information and assistance to court stakeholders with respect to criminal and civil court procedures. The incumbent handles a high volume of sensitive and confidential information and is expected to meet high standards of tact, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
We are looking for a professional individual who is organized, self-motivated, detail oriented, service-oriented, able to perform under pressure, and who excels in highly technical administrative work.

**Essential Qualifications**

- Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree program preferably with a legal component;
- Experience providing support to management, preferably in a legal setting;
- Experience performing court clerk responsibilities would be an asset; and
- Experience working in accordance with legislation and regulations would be an asset.
