We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Corporate Services team. As a Courier Clerk for the Yukon Government, you will ensure safe, confidential, rapid, and reliable delivery services between communities, departments, and facilities within the Government of Yukon. You will utilize state-of-the-art high-speed mailers and parcel shipping software and work as part of a close-knit team of seven. The role involves visiting and servicing mail for over 310 mail codes across five dedicated mail runs.

The position requires regular standing, walking, and driving, as well as lifting, carrying, and moving mail tubs, mail bags, boxes of books, and files. Duties include sorting and delivering mail and freight, with frequent handling of items weighing approximately 20 to 30 kilograms for up to 90% of the work time.

You will report to the Mail Services Supervisor, who reports to the Manager, Internal Operations at Supply Services, a division of Corporate Services within Highways and Public Works.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience providing customer service
  • Courier and /or delivery experience
  • Experience performing minor vehicle maintenance (example fluid top ups and tire pressure checks)
  • Experience working on different computer applications (example Microsoft word, Microsoft outlook, Microsoft excel)

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Conditions of Employment
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:

  • Class 5 driver's licence or equivalent
