**About Us**

Meaty Eats is a specialty retailer focusing on fresh organic meats and charcuterie as well as well as in house prepared meals. We operate two locations in the GTA focusing on quality goods, curated product selection and customer experience.

A Kitchen Assistant is an essential part of any kitchen and is responsible for food preparation & assembly which then allows the Chefs to maximize their time cooking food.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Chopping & peeling fruits and vegetables
- Seasoning and preparing the necessary ingredients for cooking
- Assembling some dishes such as salads or prepared meals
- Following basic recipes that require little to no cooking
- Keeping the kitchen clean and orderly
- Maintaining stock and inventory counts
- Anticipating what the chefs may need at any given point and offering assistance
- Washing cutlery and dishes
- Sweeping & Mopping
- Other assigned duties as required

**Prep Cook skills and qualifications**
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent English verbal communication and reading skills
- Strong organizational skills
- In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety requirements
- Food Handler Certification
- In-depth knowledge of safe food storage guidelines
- Ability to use kitchen utensils safely
- Ability to take direction and work as a team player
