We’re Ian Martin Group and we’ve partnered with our client who has been a supplier of testing and monitoring instrumentation to the Canadian market for over 70 years. With offices in Vancouver, Edmonton, Oakville, and Montreal their customers are able to receive local sales and technical expertise for a wide variety of products, rentals, and service. They focus on three major markets: Environmental Monitoring, Geotechnical & Materials Testing, and Test & Measurement Instrumentation.
Now, our client is looking for a Service Technician to join their growing organization. We’re looking for you
**Service Technician**
In this role, your main duties will include working on a variety of equipment, effectively troubleshooting equipment independently, quoting/following up with customers, and being a good representative of the company’s service efforts.
You’ll be a strong fit for this role if you are a jack of all trades who is technically hands on and enjoy variety as everyday will be different. You may be working in the shop (assembling and disassembling electronics, checking circuit boards, and comparing schematics), answering phone calls, working with clients or even travelling on site.
Specifically, you will:
- Be knowledgeable on multiple client products. (Internal and factory training will be provided.)
- Communicate electronically and/or via phone with our client’s customers and manufacturers to help troubleshoot customer’s devices.
- Quote repairs, lead times and terms to all customers and schedule follow ups as required.
- Perform calibrations and repairs correctly, on budget and in a timely fashion.
- Be a reliable service resource for external and internal customers
- Work is generally based in the Burnaby location, some travel to customers or training will be required.

Qualifications include:
- Post-secondary education in Electronics or related disciplines.
- Experience with a CRM program and related systems to capture customer information and service activity.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with an ability to work through service manuals and schematics.
- Possess proven analytical/problem solving solutions for the customer and the company.
- 3-5 years of industry related experience (asset).
- Knowledge of component level repairs and soldering skills (asset).
**The Details**
This is a full time, permanent role located in Burnaby, BC. You’ll work Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 4:30 PM. They offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience. They also offer full health and dental benefits, and vacation.
