About the Role
As a
Tool Technician
, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of tools and equipment—ensuring every repair meets factory specifications and exceeds customer expectations. Working within our service center, you'll perform detailed troubleshooting, replace defective parts, and return tools to peak performance.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role where you'll use your mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic know-how daily. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and takes pride in quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and test a variety of portable power tools and hand tools
- Identify defects and determine necessary repair procedures
- Replace or rebuild defective parts and perform function tests to ensure factory standards are met
- Conduct warranty assessments and handle customer repair requests with accuracy and professionalism
- Maintain organized records of customer repairs, parts, and inventory
- Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management regarding repair status, costs, and timelines
- Support other departments when needed and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude with proven repair experience
- Knowledge of calibration, hydraulics, and electric motors (single and three-phase) preferred
- Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues independently
- Strong computer skills and organizational ability
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Results-driven and committed to producing high-quality work
