**Position Summary**

The Communications and Social Media Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring the social media strategy for AKG Canada. This position is responsible for creating an online presence, increasing brand awareness, keeping up to date on marketing trends, posting high-quality content on various social media platforms and engaging with customers. The Communications and Social Media Coordinator will also be responsible for designing and creating print content.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and execute a results driven social media strategy for the five WorkBC catchments;
- Manage and oversee all social media accounts and ensure all posted content is informative and engaging;
- Ensure social media platforms are kept up to date ensuring maximum effectiveness;
- Continuously create engaging content for all social media platforms and design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity;
- Work with other departments, as required, to gather necessary content;
- Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics;
- Facilitate online conversations with customers and respond to queries;
- Support the design, implementation and ongoing delivery of all social media initiatives, as well as or pint;
- Edit videos for use on social media platforms; with the potential to film videos for use on social media platforms;
- Monitor SEO and user engagement and make suggestions for content optimization;
- Review analytics and create reports on key metrics and develop targeted material to focus on demographics of special populations;
- Research marketing trends, best practices and audience preferences and provide recommendations (e.g. promotions to attract prospective customers);
- Provide and maintain various reports including online customer reviews/feedback and other Ad hoc reports;
- Develop and adhere to communication and design policies;
- Train colleagues to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way, as required.
- Perform other duties, as required.

**Desireable Skills/Knowledge and Experience**
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, New Media, or other related field and 1-3 years of related experience;
- Proven work experience as a social media coordinator;
- Experience with web design and publishing;
- Highly proficient in using MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint;
- Highly proficient in using multiple social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Hootsuite and other social media platforms;
- Working knowledge of WordPress
- In depth knowledge of SEO, key word research and google analytics;
- Ability to identify future trends in digital technologies and act proactively;
- Ability to deliver creative content;
- Detail oriented and accurate in execution, ability to work well under pressure and with mínimal supervision;
- Results oriented professional with strong time-management, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment;
- Successful in managing multiple projects and competing priorities, able to allocate time effectively to meet deadlines; and
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships.

**Salary: $55,800 - $62,000
