Lead Technician

As we expand beyond residential smart home and AV services into the rapidly growing corporate security and solar markets across Alberta, we are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking **Technician** to join our team.
We are looking for someone with a solid track record in smart home technology (specifically Control4) and corporate security systems. Experience with Kantech and other commercial access control platforms will be considered a strong asset.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform full-cycle installation of smart home and AV systems including rough-in, trim-out, and final hardware deployment.
- Install and program Control4 systems, smart lighting, surveillance, distributed audio, networking, alarms, and related technologies.
- Configure, commission, and test systems to ensure top-tier functionality and user experience.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and conduct comprehensive site walkthroughs.
- Maintain organized and professional job sites.
- Create and update documentation for system configurations, layouts, and wiring.
- Collaborate with project managers and sales team to meet project timelines and exceed client expectations.
- Provide post-installation support and occasional client training.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in AV, smart home, or low-voltage system installations.
- Proficiency with Control4 or a strong willingness to train and certify.
- Solid knowledge of cable pulling, terminations, rack assembly, and hardware installation.
- Familiarity with networking setups: routers, switches, access points.
- Ability to interpret floorplans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
**Preferred Assets**:
- Experience with corporate security systems such as Kantech or DSC Neo.
- Control4 or equivalent smart home certifications.
- Background in construction, renovations, or custom home integration.

Pay: $38.00-$47.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
