**Title**: Youthspace.ca Coordinator

**Hours per week**: up to 28 hours per week

**Hours of work**: Will include daytime, evening and weekend shifts as needed.

**Shifts**:Minimum one (1) Full Youthspace.ca shifts/week.

**Wage Grid**: $25.00 - 31.00/hour

**Benefits**:4% vacation provided in annual paid leave. This position is not eligible for an extended benefits package

**Reports to**: Operations Manager or designate

**Overview of Position**:NEED2 Suicide Prevention Education & Support Youthspace.ca Coordinator oversees the day to day operations of Youthspace.ca including direct supervision and training of staff and volunteers; maintenance of Youthspace service, funding and legal obligations; maintenance of program data; and promotion of Youthspace services on social media and in community.

**Responsibilities of Position**

**Supervision Responsibilities**:

- Provide day-to-day supervision to youthspace.ca staff and volunteers to ensure a high quality of online emotional support of chat, forum and resource services.
- Hire, train, and supervise all Youthspace.ca staff
- Screen, train and supervise all Youthspace.ca volunteers
- Coordinate and deliver comprehensive training to a minimum of two incoming volunteer groups annually, including but not limited to room preparation, material preparation, practice chat assessments, feedback, shadow and observation shifts.
- Oversee opportunities for advanced volunteer training.
- Coordinate the screening, recruitment, training of volunteers and mentor volunteer screeners.
- Develop and maintain staff monthly schedule
- Coordinate volunteer shifting
- Provides additional volunteer training opportunities at least 3 times a year
- Maintains a minimum of one regular youthsapce.ca shift every week to ensure connection with staff and volunteers.
- Coordinate on-call support scheduling
- Monitor Youthspace.ca program delivery and report any successes and/or issues to Operations manager.
- Coordinate and lead monthly Youthspace.ca staff meetings.
- Provide letters of reference and support for volunteers.
- Raise volunteer or staff concerns to the Operations Manager or designate.
- Maintain volunteer and staff files for Youthspace.ca
- Be available to debrief and support youthspace staff and volunteers as necessary.
- In coordination with Operations Manager or their designate, conduct regular staff progress reviews as outlined in the personnel policy
- Debrief with Operations Manager or designate as necessary
- Maintaining a warm and inviting physical space for staff and volunteers including ensuring space is clean and tidy.
- Maintains a consistent stock of necessary supplies for office space (including but not exclusive to snacks, activities, resources, office supplies, cleaning supplies, toiletries, etc)
- Maintain and coordinate a regular Youthspace staff duty list to ensure the space utilized by youthsapce.ca staff and volunteers (including but not exclusive to chat space, office, and kitchen) is kept clean and tidy and waste management (garbage, compost, and recycling are regularly taken out)
- Maintain and coordinate staff to place garbage and compost bins to designated location for bi
- weekly pick up based on municipal schedule

**Maintenance of Youthspace Service, Funding and Legal Obligations Responsibilities**:

- Maintain systems needed to deliver Youthspace.ca services including but not limited to: reporting technical issues to iCarol, maintaining Youthspace.ca Handbook, updating communication binder, posting alert notices, reviewing chat records.
- Ensure current clinical best practices, ethical standards, and legal obligations are being followed consistently by Youthspace staff and volunteers
- Ensure agency standards are maintained and followed
- Oversee emergency interventions and day time interventions ensuring they are completed in a timely manner
- Maintain contractual responsibilities of Youthspace.ca outlined in funding agreement

**Maintenance of Program Data**:

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and statistics of Youthspace services outcomes for Operations manager to be presented to the Executive Director and Board.
- Provide information to Operations manager of current trends in Youthspace.ca chats
- Maintain up to date data on emergency interventions and risk assessments completed in Youthspace
- Provide data regarding Youthspace programming in a timely manner to Executive Director, Operations Manager, and Board of Directors as requested

**Promotion of Youthspace.ca services**
- Supports Operations Manager to actively promote and represent Youthspace.ca in the community including; volunteer fairs; radio and t.v. promotion, speaking opportunities for funders; fundraising events.
- Support the Operations Manager in the development of necessary promotional material in different media for Youthspace.ca.
- Support the Operation Manager to onboard new community Follow-up
