Position: Specialist - Building Performance and Asset Management

**Salary**: Band 5: $75,503 - $90,040

Location: Facility Services Department, J.W. Singleton Education Centre

Work Schedule: 35 hours/week, 12 months/year

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Position Summary:
Responsible for asset management of the Board’s inventory of facilities and equipment under the responsibility of the Facility Services and Planning Department. Requires knowledge of database management best practices, environmental sustainability measures, building equipment and systems, efficient operating and maintenance requirements, and distribution and dissemination of information to internal and external departments of the Board. In its roles and responsibilities, it will be required to provide optimal customer services to Facility Services Supervisors, and board employees and administrators.

**Responsibilities**:

- Computerized Maintenance Management System development of Asset Management Program, Ministry of Education ECIS and VFA database including Asset Retirement Obligations
- Align above with AutoCAS layering and filing including as-built for all 108 schools including 8 million square feet of floor space and 600 acres of land and link with GIS systems as appropriate.
- Work Order Support and reporting to support efficiencies with Area Supervisors and contractor relations supporting development of predictive maintenance programs
- Provide support and expertise on code compliance, industry standards, best management practices, and efficiencies within the Facility Services and Planning Department
- Create specifications and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders and monitor compliance dates and requirements for team
- May be responsible for contractors within areas of expertise. Could include eBase, VFA representative, code compliance vendors
- Expected to work routinely in the office with work from home provisions. Also expected to attend site visits with vendors and to conduct audits to support data integrity with AutoCAD, eBase, ESIC, VFA

Qualifications:

- Minimum Required: 3-4 year community college diploma/degree in a related field
- Preferred : University Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Building Science
- Minimum Required: AutoCAD and layering/filing standards
- Preferred: Engineer, Architect, Building Science
- 3 years of relevant work experience required
- 5 years of work experience in property or facility management and mechanical expertise preferred
- AutoCAD and Asset Management skills required
- Preference for AutoCAD, Asset Management, ECIS, Work Order Management, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), eBase skills
